ARE you a pretty good boss? How’s Harlan handling the change in management?
Ha ha Jay, I throw my 2 cents worth out sometimes and he does listen, but ultimately I leave it all up to him and just help where I can.
There is sure something about being in the wide, open outside. I love to dig in the dirt and watch plants grow. Never had a farm but my small garden satisifies. There’s just something about it.
Nice, I’m jealous as I pound away on these computer keys in the office. Thank goodness we have America’s farmers and ranchers. Keep up the good work guys (and gals)!
Well said! There’s nothing quite like it! 🙂
You all live in the most, absolutely beautiful part of the world! What a view!
Very nice analogy of a farmer’s life. I once was involved with a farmer and helped some on the farm. Not an easy life, but I loved being outdoors and not being confined to a timeclock!
Great post & pictures. Reminds me of my dad & growing up on a farm.
I really loved growing up on the farm and worked in the fields everyday with my Dad. Love being in the country where things are growing. But, I don’t think I could get used to such wide open space as you have there on the praire. I love the beautiful hugh trees always in site here in Michigan. I have a Sycamore tree out front that is so hugh I feel like an ant when I walk by it. At times it seems spiritual its so beautiful.
Hi Doe,
It took me a while to get used to the wide open space here too. I grew up in Missouri where there are a lot more trees and hills. Now when I go back there for a visit, it feels kinda confining, so I guess I’ve finally gotten used to Kansas. 🙂
This is a very timing post. We should be very grateful for our farmers bc lord knows I’m too lazy to grow my food, keep care of cattle and bring it to the table. Thank you farmers and farmettes!
I like Harland’s office and his movable desk! I love the clouds in the first couple of photos….they are so beautiful! It’s awesome that he gets to breathe fresh air everyday. Talk about being alone with your thoughts! He is probably busy from sun up til sun down. Sounds like a good and honest life!!
I love your husband’s office…it reminded me of the MN & WI. offices ha ha. I loved the farm country in both places but what I missed the most when living out that way was the tree’s. Plus the ocean….missed that also, not that I get to see it often here but it’s the knowing you can see it by driving an hours drive.
Love your blog. How is Kitty these days? Imagine she
is waiting for spring and warmer weather like we all are.
I sometimes miss trees and the ocean too Celia. Kitty is fine and up to all of her tricks. 🙂
I love your blogs. You have such an excellent perspective
Thank you Rita, and thanks for your visit too.
Now that’s the kind of office I’d like! Great post!
