Pasture Hooligans
The calves are now a month old, and are starting to play as a group. It’s like a clique of friends in grade school hanging out. They push each other around, hop and skip,
and then set off running just for the sheer joy of it.
I lke the way their little tails curl up sometimes when they run.
Last night we were doing some yardwork, and watching the calves play.
.
I just love spring.
Our calves are due the end of this month and the end of May so we are really excited.
how cute!
I can’t believe how agile they are! They’re just hoppin and skippin and a jumpin! That’s amazing to me…if you were watching from a distance, you just might think that was a couple of dogs running that fast. Seriously, I never knew they could run like that!! See what I learn from your blog?!
I just had to tell you! I was driving by a farm field the other day that had only mamas and calves in it, and I observed the “babysitting” that you mentioned going on! There were probably 15 calves with two mamas watching them in one end of the field, the rest of the mamas were way across in the opposite corner of the field! I had never noticed this before, but it must be common. Thanks for informing us about it!
Isn’t it amazing how they do that? Cows are a lot smarter than they look. Thanks Pam K.
How cute!Who knew they could hop around and be so agile. Have a wonderful and blessed Easter everyone.
Hi Tina,
Thank you, and to you as well.
Oh, they’re having great fun!!! 🙂
Hi Justina,
I love watching them play from my kitchen window.
Love these pictures. How cool to see them playing.
Thanks Kathy! I love to watch them.
They are so adorable! What a great bunch you have.
Hi Teresa,
I’m sure you see a lot of the same from your “kids” as well. Spring is such a fun time on the farm isn’t it?
I love the pictures of the calf kicking up his hind legs!
Hi Dianna,
He wants to be a rodeo star. 🙂
That was fun. And so cute.
