Sunset In The Cornfield

The lush green leaves of the summer cornfield have given way to the dry rustling corn leaves of fall. Fog hangs in the valleys in the early morning. Migrating birds have flown south and an expectant hush descends upon the prairie.

The sun sets over the cornfield as it awaits harvest.

Cattle, corn, wheat, beans, mud, snow, ice, and drought. Plenty of fresh air and quiet. Our life is sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes joyous, but never boring.

That is a beautiful photo. I love your photography. It has really made me see Kansas as a beautiful place. I used to think the “flat parts” of our country weren’t very interesting. But I was wrong.

Thank you Maegan. Most people think Kansas is all entirely flat, as I used to before I moved here. But where we are has gentle rolling hills. In fact the only part of Kansas that is flat as a tabletop is the western part.
