The chrysanthemums by the door are fading to brown.
The maple trees in the front yard are almost bare now.
We never rake our leaves here on the prairie. The wind takes them away shortly after they fall.
The fields of soybeans and corn have been harvested leaving the countryside bare and open.
This morning dawned sunny and upper 40s, but a cold front is moving in and by 5pm it will be 30 degrees.
Fall is winding to a close, and winter is slowly settling in.
The low tonight is supposed to be 16 degrees. Brrrrr….. Time to put away my fall jacket and pull out a winter coat.
