The national weather service is referring to our upcoming snow event as our “storm of the winter”.

Yes folks, it’s smiles all around.

Here are Kitty and Muffy getting ready for the weekend:

They need their rest…we’re going to put them to work shoveling snow.

Cattle, corn, wheat, beans, mud, snow, ice, and drought. Plenty of fresh air and quiet. Our life is sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes joyous, but never boring.

    Mr. February!

No one smiled in the old pictures of farmers, now we know why. I am laughing at the thought of Kitty and Muffy shoveling snow, that would be two very tiny shovels.

We so appreciate his effort, as well as yours. “City slickers” need to know the true costs of their next piece of steak! I always think back to the soggy (smelly) coveralls next to the heat registers – trying to get work clothes dry – for the next go-round.

Ah yes…there’s nothing like the smell of damp manure splattered clothes wafting thru the house….now there’s something to look forward to.

Ahhh! Such “fun”!! I love the look on Harland’s face! I really do feel sorry for all farmers and ranchers who have to be out in weather like that! It’s not fun at all! But thanks for the pictures and the info. – How did Kitty and Muffy do with their shoveling/spooning job? I hope they got it all finished!! 🙂

Ha, ha. You two are too funny. I love Harlands “joyful” face! At least Kitty and Muffin have their priorities straight 🙂

LOL!!! I am ready for spring and wake up to -6 degrees this morning. Think the kitties have the right idea…..pull up the blanket and go back to sleep!!!

Ha ha…so funny! I don’t live all that far from you, so I know what you are facing. But I don’t have to work out in it and that is a big difference. I am looking forward to a cozy weekend in the house. Staying warm and snuggling up to one of my four cats. You apparently train yours better than I have mine. I could never get mine to shovel snow. 🙁 I’ve tried to teach the art of vacuuming and that hasn’t gone well either. 😉

One of my readers left this on my blog, and I laughed and laughed. Who knew that those crazy Canadians had such a sense of humor? Enjoy this little bit of winter weather humor!

    Friday Feb 27

What has happened to that beautiful dog you adopted????

Harland definitely should be on a calendar for Mr. February! I laughed out loud! Poor thing, I mean you too, manure splattered coveralls drying and that lovely perfume wafting through the house. I was so cold today at 63, rain, grey skies and wind. Now I know you would take that and be wearing shorts! But it depends on your neck of the cactus. I am used to 110 and dry desert air. Enjoy your snow, Spring is on the way soon!

Sixty-three!!! It went down to below zero here over the weekend. We didn’t get the snow they predicted = only about an inch and it’s melted off now. We were above freezing today and we’ll have a high of 50 here on Friday. That’ll be the warmest it’s been in months. We’ve given permission to the cows to go ahead and calve that day if they’d like. 🙂
