A Good Picture of Me?
It occurs to me that I haven’t put a picture of myself on this site yet. I look at other people’s sites and notice that they have nice pictures of themselves looking polished and professional. And I think to myself, I need to get a picture taken of me where I look good. Problem is I always manage to look goofy in photos. (Or maybe I just look goofy in real life and aren’t aware of it and people are too nice to say so) So I went looking for a good pic of me tonight, and here’s what I came up with.
This was taken on the occasion of my first communion. I’m about 8 or 9 years old here. Check out that boy haircut. Mom cut my hair. It was the 1970s. Enough said.
Then there’s this gem. As you’re reading this post, it’s a wonder your computer doesn’t melt down from this picture.
Oh my holy heck, check out the hair. This was taken when I was in Jr. High, I think. That’s a home perm. The brand of the perm was “Kindness”. What a contradiction! I had fried curly hair for a year.
Finally we have this Kodak moment.
Not sure what’s going on here. Not sure I want to know what’s going on here. At least my hair looks relatively normal. This was taken just a couple years ago. My boyfriend (now husband) proposed to me about 2 weeks after this was taken. What was he thinking?
Sometime, I’ll get a good picture taken of myself, and I’ll share it with you. I promise.
Really.
haha candid goofy pictures are my favorite anyway!
Well, you’ve come to the right place then, cause it doesn’t get any goofier.
I’ve never seen these photos before but they are adorable!
Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed them, you poor thing.
Progression photos are fascinating.
That last one looks beautiful and perfectly normal happy to me.
Well thank you! The pic was taken by my husband. “through the eyes of love”
You were adorable! I had hair just like yours in the second pic.
Well thank you! I’m sorry you had hair like mine though, tee hee.
I think we are all a bit goofy-especially in the ’70s. I have a picture of me, somewhere, with wings for a shirt collar, plaid pants and a knit vest. I was about 6. What was my mother thinking?????
Hi Cedar Cove Farm,
Thanks for stopping by. I know, what were any of our mothers thinking? We just grew up in an ugly time for fashion unfortunately.
I love the last pic in the red sweater! Cute very natural and that is the one you should use.It looks great! By the way I have pictures just like yours even the one with perm!
Hi Tina,
Well thank you!
Oh dear, sorry to hear about your perm. We’re all scarred for life over those dreadful home perms. :o)
Thank you for stopping by,
Suzanne
oh you; you are very pretty in all those pics. I should share some of mine — they would make you grateful! True!
Hi Nance,
Maybe your computer monitor was not functioning properly. Switch it out, and then look at this post again. Have an antacid ready. 🙂
You look beautiful in each of them. My girls look the same in the pics from that era, and the ones of my boys — good grief, they grew up needing haircuts and wearing plaid pants with striped shirts, or maybe it was vice versa. 🙂
Thanks Ruth.
