I’m Awake And You Should Be Too!
I found Harland staring off into space this morning as I headed out the door to work.
Harland: “I didn’t get much sleep last night.”
Me: “Oh yeah? Why?”
Harland: “Well, first somebody had to get into the closet in the middle of the night.”
(Our closet is right next to the bed and sometimes Kitty feels the need to explore in there. So she pulls and pushes on the folding door until it opens enough for her to get in. If this takes a half hour like it did last night, so be it. Kitty is determined to get what she wants no matter how long it takes.)
Harland: “Then, somebody jumped on top of me and demanded attention. And if I don’t pet her she sticks her nose on my face and it’s wet and cold.”
(For some reason, Kitty only does this to Harland. But then he is her favorite and in the middle of the night I’m not jealous about that at all.)
Harland: “Then around 5:30am there was some lightning and thunder. So I got up and unplugged the computers. And then I had to go to the bathroom.”
Harland: “And then the alarm went off at 6:30am.”
Me: “Well, maybe sometime today you can get a nap in. Kitty certainly will.”
Harland: “Yeah.”
Kitty: “What’s up with him? He looks really tired.”

So glad Kitty is back to her old self after being ill. Even if it is at Harland’s expense.
Love this!
Love the Kitty Posts Suzanne, how are the barn cats (lovebirds) doing? Poor Harland, maybe he should keep Kitty awake!
I haven’t been up to the barn in a while. I’ve seen black and white kitty come down to the house. Kitty gave her the evil eye from the window. >:(
I love love the last close up with her whisker pads straight out. She is SO sweet! Tell Harland to put a real door on the closet as her is renovating. But I know what you mean, mine get in my sliding closet doors at night too.
So glad to hear Kitty is back to herself. We have those types of doors in our bedroom but I learned along time ago a squirt bottle next to the bed with a little vinegar in it will ward off that night time behavior. Just shaking the bottle and our two boys run like the wind! Husband sleeps straight through everything.
Sorry Harland but I was laughing so hard reading about Kitty. Hope you get caught up on your sleep while Kitty is sleeping.
I have one that does that kind of stuff too; only when she thinks there is a mouse somewhere! So we set the traps and once the mice are caught, the cat is quiet again. But, I think you have one who wouldn’t be so easily dissuaded.
(Sorry Harland), but I got a laugh out of this one! I was trying to picture kitty climbing on him in the middle of the night and demanding attention. That cold wet nose would’ve been just a little annoying in the wee hours of the night! 🙂
LOL. Our cats chew on my husbands hair if he ignores them. (like when he’s trying to sleep.) Of course I laugh, but probably because they aren’t doing it to me.
Is Kitty related to my Jenny? Oh, are they alike. Jenny likes to “groom” my husband in the middle of the night. No sleep for the husbands. I had to laugh at this post because it is so true in this household as well.
Poor Harland! Hope he gets more sleep tonight but I sure do laugh at Kitty’s adventures! LOL!
It is funny when you read about it, but I’m sorry for you, Harland. I’m sure it wasn’t funny for you at the time! I hope she settles down. Wait! Do you think she’s trying to get back at you for all the racket you made with the machinery outside??!!! 🙂
There must be something about calico kitties and closets….Sundae is the same way! Kitty has the most beautiful eyes; you capture them perfectly.
Hope Harland got his nap!
Kitty must think she’s a comic now. She’s just so beautiful and cute and full of the mischief that when I see her I just want to hug her.
Just remember a few weeks ago when we were worried about Kitty becuase she was sick??? Now that makes it all ok that we lost sleep last night right Harland???? ;O
