Our 7th Anniversary
Seven years ago this coming Sunday, July 26, Harland and I stood up in front of our friends and family, and said our “I do’s”.
We promised to love each other forever, through good and bad.
Later, at our reception, we danced our first dance to Etta James’ “At Last”.
We had both waited a long time to find each other, and the song’s lyrics spoke perfectly to what we felt for each other.
Last Friday evening, I rode around in the tractor with Harland as he baled hay. It was dusty, noisy, cramped, and uncomfortable.
I used to tell Harland when we were dating that I didn’t care what we did, as long as we were together, it would be fine.
And seven years down the road, I still feel that way:
The most important thing is that we are together.

Oh, girlfriend……..now you’ve got me bawling! Congratulations to two wonderful people and my wishes for another 77 years.
Suzanne, best wishes and Happy Anniversary wishes to you and Harland.
I have so enjoyed your blogging, and reading and seeing films about life on your
farm and many adventures around Kansas.
Thank you both again for your efforts to brighten my life in a small apt. for sure.
One of my favorite blogs was that beautiful Catholic church, now sitting all by
itself, with the amazing stained glass windows.
In addition, I love reading about your farm animals or those you come in contact
with through your life on the farm.
Best wishes to you both,
mary m , vancouver,wa.
Happy Anniversary to and Harland!
Your marriage is a beautiful witness.
Florida hugs,
Becca
Best wishes, happiness and health to you both. Love your gentle humor and great insight into things people tend to disregard or not notice at all. Your essay on Miss Tadpole is my all time favorite. My husband and I just celebrated 30 years but it just seems like yesterday. Do it all now. Don’t wait. Please keep blogging.
Happy 7th anniversary. Continue being each other’s best friend and you will enjoy many more wonderful years. I enjoy your farming adventures. Wish you had time to post more often.
Happy Anniversary! Your wedding photo is beautiful, your expressions say it all in the dance photo and the tractor photo is sweet!
Happy Anniversary to you two. Your blessings are many. Thank you for sharing this joy with us today. Sue
Happy Anniversary, Suzanne and Harland! Such a sweet post. The love you two have for each other just comes right off the page. May you have many more years together.
What wonderful photos, and what a wonderful testament to the reality that a good marriage can be. Congratulations to you both. No seven-year-itch here, unless it might be from that hay baling!
I have tears in my eyes. I remember when I first discovered your blog. I loved reading about your romance. You live out in the middle of Kansas in a quiet but beautiful area not surrounded by paparazzi but you have a much more beautiful life and definitely a better love life than most famous people. May you never take it for granted.
My husband and I will be meeting with his parents and siblings tonight to celebrate his parents’ 62nd wedding anniversary today.
Happy Anniversary to both of you! Hugs to your kittys!
Happy anniversary and many more.
Happy Anniversary and may God grant you His richest blessings for many years to come!
Your pictures are so beautiful!
Ron and I just celebrated our 57th anniversary. I pray that you and Harland make it at least that far!
Thanks for sharing this!

Happy, happy, happy anniversary! You are such a nice couple and fit just right together. I hope you have many, many happy years together. Just take the good with the bad and the smiles with the tears. I am now a widow of two years and my husband and I were married 36 years and I was so blessed to have him. I wish you all the best. Love and prayers!
Congratulations Suzanne and Harland. I delight in following your unfolding story in far away Kansas.
Happy Anniversary!
Sincere and warm congratulations go out to you and Harland. Hope you enjoyed your special day together.
Thanks for sharing your lovely wedding photos and the Etta James tune. They put a smile on my face this rainy morning in coastal Massachusetts.
