Monarch Monday – Week 5

If you missed Weeks 1, 2, 3, and 4, you can catch up here:

Monarch Monday – Week 1

Monarch Monday – Week 2

Monarch Monday – Week 3

Monarch Monday – Week 4

Changes are going on inside here.

Quietly, day by day, Mr. Caterpillar is becoming a butterfly.

Yesterday, he looked like this, and this morning, I noticed his wings are beginning to turn orange and black.  At this stage we are just a few days away from hatching.  I won’t leave you hanging until next Monday though.

Stay tuned, one day this week we’ll have a butterfly.

How did he get from a hot pink plastic cage to a brown twig? Did you move him? The case or cocoon he is in is pretty in itself.

Can’t get anything past you Tina. 🙂 We moved him to the twig. The hot pink plastic thing was so ugly in the pictures we couldn’t stand it. And it was difficult to photograph him there too. So I removed him from it and attached him to a maple twig.

I’ve been so busy canning lately that I haven’t “visited” with you. Found this series this morning and it brought back memories of doing this in science class in 6th grade (in the last century!). Can’t wait for the next chapter.

Thanks Euni! I did this several times when I was a kid too, but I’m enjoying it much more this time around and loving it that I can share it with everyone.
