A few of you have been asking for a sneak peak at our outfits.
Well, here’s a peek at Harland’s vest and shirt:
His shirt we found at a thrift store and I removed the collar to make it look more mid-19th century. And the vest we bought from an online company that sells 19th century reproduction western clothing. He also has a pair of dark brown woolen pants we bought at a thrift store. And I bought him a retro looking pocket watch from of all places – Wallyworld.
And here’s a close-up of my dress bodice:
I finally sewed the last hooks and eyes onto the back of it this morning. The fabric (100% cotton) I bought at Joann’s Fabrics and it is lined with cotton muslin. The fan I bought from another online company specializing in ladies 19th century reproduction articles. The mother of pearl necklace I bought from an antique store over 20 years ago, and the earrings were bought for my sister’s wedding back in 1993.
And so there you go. We’re packing up and will be headed down to Cottonwood Falls shortly. We’ll take pics tonight and hopefully get some video too.
