Cattle, corn, wheat, beans, mud, snow, ice, and drought. Plenty of fresh air and quiet. Our life is sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes joyous, but never boring.

Looks to me like she like being in the “spotlight”. Pun intended!!

…and a fine job of morally supporting Harland she does too. What a sweet little lady she is; reminds me of my precious, CatCat, a long haired calico with a mind of her own and a sweet personality to match her gorgeous fur. Her belly hair is the softest I have ever felt on a kitty anywhere, so lucky she chose us to be her family.

Kitty’s softest spot is her chest. Unfortunately she doesn’t like us to pet her there. But it’s so soft, like bunny fur.

    Is she Harland’s personal asst?

Do you all or Kitty have a routine that you follow to prepare for winter?

    • Suzanne says:

I guess you could say so, although I’ve not really thought about it before. After harvest, which is the end of the farming year, Harland plants winter wheat which is the 1st crop planted for harvest next year. He puts anhydrous ammonia on fields he plans to plant in corn next spring. He’s been doing all these things for the last few weeks. Soon we’ll be transporting the cattle back home where we’ll wean the calves. After that we kind of hunker down for a few months. Harland’s farm chores will be lighter for the next few months. Feeding cattle will be the main thing every day. Calving won’t start until early March so winter is a slower time for us with shorter work days and suppers eaten together at a normal time.
Kitty doesn’t prepare for winter. Her job from season to season is to look cute and be soft. And sleep a lot. And run around occasionally chasing us. 🙂

    lol…lol…thanks for sharing!
    I love the farm life!
    I almost married a farmer….
but I would have had to marry his mother too 😉

    (Oh, I just love Becca’s comment…..snicker…. I know what she means….!)

Anyway, cute pictures of Kitty and Harland. Kitties always want to be in the middle of whatever you’re doing. I remember when my son was doing homework on the dining room table; he usually had to shoo a kitty off his papers!

Everyone needs a helper. I’m sure Harland welcomes Kitty’s advice.

I bet Kitty liked the heat from the lamp.

Maybe Kitty just wanted to lick the stamps or envelopes? They are so helpful. At one time I had a cat that would bat at my pen while I wrote… Just helpful little fur balls they are..

Kitties always have to be right in everything “helping” us!
    Little busybodies!
